Artist Statement

Introduction
My creative foundation is formed out of three cards. They all form a base foundation for everything which I do in my creative, public and personal life. Some are bluntly obvious while there are others which work in the background out of sight. To simply put, these are my past, present and future for creativity.

Artist
The ability to create is a powerful thing. For most of my life, I have always loved to draw, which I can communicate myself in an illustrated form on a flat canvas. Drawing helps me stay focused, write thoughts and emotions down, and dream of new ideas. I am a great admire of creative visionaries of like Walt Disney, Jim Henson and many others. I try to stay in a constant creative move because of my imagination. I am always daydreaming of unbelievable characters in unforeseen worlds telling untold stories. Most of these ideas for my art comes from traditional way of thinking through personal interactions, faith, life situations and environment. The people, places and things are connected to me, and I hope, in ideal terms, the artwork I create of characters, worlds and stories is relatable to a traditionally multigenerational audience.

Animator
My animator card is a part of me but just not from an obvious standpoint. Being an animator is my drive for creativity. I am always on the move like a wave going onto a shore. I hold the belief an artwork is simply a breathing body willing to come to life in front of the viewer. I look for a reason to add to an artwork. Plus it if you would understand! I just created a brilliant illustrated poster. Now, let's create something to go along with it. Take that illustration and place it on a designer tshirt. I find it true that an artwork will never be finished. It could be through constant creative motion, design and craftsmanship. “A body in motion stays in motion and a body at rest can rest in peace.”

Designer
I am always learning new techniques. What's old, current and new? I aim to blend traditional and digital aesthetics to finalize an artwork. Design is technique of using my hands to the fullest creative potential to try to find perfection in an artwork. It helps communicate structure, composition, balance and understanding through timeless values and relatibility. There is design in almost everything. Much like my faith, there is a reason for an artwork because there is a designer behind the structure who took the time and craftmanship to create something. My design card is a reason for my artwork's communication.
